Policies
Deposits:
New yurt orders require a deposit of 30% of the total price plus the price of any options, to be paid before production begins. Custom orders may also require a deposit. This deposit is non-refundable - a customer may cancel their order but the deposit will not be refunded. The balance and shipping costs will be billed once the order is complete and must be paid in full before the order will ship. Once the final invoice is sent, customer must pay the balance due on the order within 30 days, or Traders of Tamerlane may, at its discretion, re-sell, restock, or repurpose the order, or charge storage fees. In this case, the initial deposit will be honored for one year.
Shipping:
Shipping costs for items requiring an initial deposit (generally yurts and other large items) will be billed with the remaining balance due. Otherwise, shipping will be billed along with the initial purchase. Shipping will be calculated based on the address of the recipient, whether an in person pickup or delivery is requested, and final weight and size of the product. We are located in central New Jersey and attend many events in the NJ/ East PA Area. If you wish, we may schedule an event delivery or in-person pickup. We will generate a shipping quote on any of our larger items, feel free to contact us with your full address to find out the specific shipping cost to your door. Please note that we cannot ship yurts or other large items to a PO Box as they are not accepted.
Returns:
New products that are suitable for resale (not stained, worn, painted, cut, soiled, damaged, or otherwise modified) may be returned for a refund within 30 days of purchase as long as the ORIGINAL receipt/invoice is included with the returned item. Shipping costs of the returned item are the responsibility of the purchaser. For yurts, and other large products, authorization for a return (RMA) must be arranged BEFORE return shipping to ensure proper processing and shipping. Merchandise returned without authorization will be refused. AFTER 30 days, NO returns will be accepted. NO returns are accepted on custom products or products discontinued for more than 30 days. Products must be returned in the original box and packing materials, including all accessories and the original documentation. Do not destroy or discard original packing for 30 days. The value of any missing accessories will be deducted from the credit amount of a return. Returns of larger items including yurts may be subject to a restocking fee, to be determined during the return process.
Production Time:
Customers should allow 3-5 weeks for the construction of yurts and other large items. Production time can vary due to orders pending, materials in stock, and other factors. Please be aware that late spring/early summer is our busy season, and may result in increased production times as described above. Orders are constructed in the order in which they are received. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) will periodically update the customer on the status of their order, and estimated completion date. In cases where an order must be completed by a certain date, Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) strongly suggests ordering well in advance of that date.
Rentals:
All rental fees must be paid in advance. Renters shall be bound to the terms of a rental agreement, which they must sign date and return prior to delivery of their rental. The rental fee and security deposit must be paid in full, and a rental agreement must be signed before delivery can take place. Please be sure you or a designated agent will be available at the rental site, or agreed-upon delivery area beginning and end of the rental period. Shipping is available for rental yurts, but shipping fees are the responsibility of the renter. While the yurt is in transit, no rental fees will be incurred. A security deposit is required in addition to the rental fee. The security deposit will be used to cover expenses due to any damage done to the yurt while in the possession of the customer. The security deposit shall be returned to the renter upon return of the yurt, less any charges due to damages. Some rental orders may require a rental deposit to be paid (a portion of the full rental fee) in order to reserve the order, which is non-refundable.
Rental cancellations will be honored as follows, based on the scheduled delivery date:
Cancellations more than 15 days before the delivery date: Full refund (minus any non-refundable deposit), including security deposit.
Cancellations between 15 and 7 days before the delivery date: Refund of the security deposit, but NOT the rental fee
Cancellations less than 7 days before the date: NO refund will be issued.
The rental terms stated in the rental policy above may change on per-event basis. Terms set forth in a signed rental agreement or presented on an invoice shall always supersede entirely those listed above. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) reserves the right to refuse a rental order, and will refund all fees in such a case.
Tent Warranty:
All tents are covered under a 4 year warranty, guaranteeing that they are free of defects in materials or workmanship. This does not apply to defects found to be due to negligence, mishandling, improper care or storage or modification, normal wear and tear, or catastrophic damage whether any of the above be intentional or accidental. Items or components may need to be photographed, inspected, and/or returned to Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) in order to determine its eligibility for replacement under the terms of this warranty, at the discretion of Traders of Tamerlane (LLC). Should an item need to be repaired or replaced, the purchaser shall be responsible for any shipping fees incurred in repairing the defective item or parts, but labor and materials charges will be waived. Yurt components that have been deliberately stained, painted, cut, shaped, or otherwise modified by the customer may not be eligible for replacement. Replacement components of yurts may not be stained painted or otherwise colored the same color as the components they are intended to replace. . This warranty is not transferable in whole or in part to any party not listed on the original purchase invoice
Canvas Warranty:
Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) will replace any canvas found to be defective, as long as it is found and returned before any cuts or alterations are made. Return shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Once the canvas has been cut or altered, Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) can take no responsibility for its condition, and will not be held liable for any defects, nor will Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) make any refunds or replacements. Please inspect your canvas thoroughly before altering it in any way.
Warranty - Other Items :
All other items are covered under a 30 day warranty guaranteeing that they are free of defects in materials or workmanship. This does not apply to defects found to be due to negligence, mishandling, improper care or storage or modification, normal wear and tear, or catastrophic damage whether any of the above be intentional or accidental. Should an item need to be repaired or replaced, the customer shall be responsible for covering any shipping fees incurred in returning the defective item or its parts. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) shall be responsible for covering any shipping fees incurred in returning repaired or replaced goods to the customer.
